First, fold up the flap on a Die Cut Kraft card and line up the flap fold with the cutting line on your cutter and the bottom fold with the 1/2" mark.
Here is a close up of how the card is lined up in the cutter. Cut this bit off and them flip the card and repeat for the other side.
You can see one side is cut on an angle and I am ready to cut the other side.
One the cutting is done, fold the flap to the back of the card and press with the bone folder or something else. The flap wants to stay at the front so you have to be really forceful here!
This is what the card will look like once the flap is folded to the back.
Cut a 6"X6" piece of cardstock in the color of your choice and adhere to the card under the flap.
Flip it over and cut off the excess. I just used my Microtip Scissors, but if you feel so inclined, you could do it with a cutter.
Now you are ready to decorate! Here is my (almost) finished product. Well, except for a little insert and Happy Birthday stamped under the flower. I also might add a touch of adhesive under the flap so it doesn't bulge so much. You could add a gift card (as I did on the Mother's Day card) or just a note. Hope you like it!
Supplies used:
- Die Cut Kraft Card
- Twilight Cardstock
- 100 Grit sandpaper to distress the cardstock
- CTMH Seam Binding Ribbon
- Medallion from Harvest Charms Collection
- Pemberley My Stickease
- Ladybug from the Dollar Store
Very cute! I haven't made one of these cards in a long time and the Kraft cards are just perfect for making them. Great idea! Thanks for the inspiration!
